Privacy Policy
TellyNite ("we," "our," or "us") is a media player. This policy explains what stays on your device, what your TellyNite account may store, what we use Firebase and related services for, and what we do not control — including your third-party IPTV or playlist service ("Your Service").
Summary
- TellyNite does not provide, host, sell, or distribute channels, playlists, or media content.
- Connecting to Your Service is required for playback. Streaming and catalogue requests go to the servers you configure.
- A TellyNite account is used for authentication, trials, subscriptions, device limits, and cloud features such as AutoSync.
- We do not sell personal information to data brokers and we do not use advertising SDKs to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. What we do not collect as an IPTV provider
Because TellyNite is not your content provider, we are not the operator of Your Service. We do not select your channels, host your streams, or act as your IPTV panel. Titles, posters, and stream URLs that come from Your Service are governed by that provider's practices when traffic is sent to them.
2. Your TellyNite account
Account and entitlement data are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) on our behalf. Depending on how you sign up and use the product, this may include:
- Email address and authentication credentials (or Google sign-in identifiers)
- Display name where provided
- Account and last-updated timestamps
- Subscription and trial status, device registrations (for Premium device limits), and related entitlement records
- Records needed to operate trials securely (including measures to limit trial abuse)
You must provide accurate registration information and must be legally capable of entering into our Terms and EULA under the laws that apply to you.
3. AutoSync and cloud account data
When AutoSync and related cloud features are enabled for your account and devices, TellyNite may store and synchronize supported account data between authorized devices so your experience can follow you. Depending on feature availability and your settings, this may include:
- Profiles (Who's Watching?) and profile-related preferences
- Favorites, vault / locked or hidden items, and related organization state
- Watch history and playback-related progress where supported
- Application preferences and settings that are part of the sync model
- Playlist configuration needed for multi-device continuity (which may include service addresses and login fields you entered for Your Service)
- Device names and management metadata for linked devices
AutoSync is a product feature of TellyNite Premium / trial entitlements where offered. You can manage devices and account settings in the app and on the account website where available. See also the EULA and Terms of Service.
4. What typically stays on your device
In normal use, large local catalogues, caches, recordings or timeshift buffers (when supported), and many playback assets remain on the device. Local backups you create on your device are under your control and are not automatically uploaded by TellyNite unless a cloud feature you use is designed to store that data.
TellyNite does not offer a general "offline download store" of third-party movies or shows as a product feature. Any local recording or buffer behavior is limited to capabilities you enable and that Your Service / device support.
5. Connections to Your Service
When you play or browse, the app connects to the third-party service you configure, sending credentials and requests as needed to authenticate and retrieve catalogue or stream data from that service. That service is operated by a third party we do not control, do not endorse, and have no affiliation with. Its handling of your data is governed by its privacy policy, not this one.
Some providers use unencrypted HTTP on custom ports. Where your provider requires that, traffic between your device and Your Service may not be encrypted. That is a property of the service you choose.
6. Metadata services (TMDb)
On supported platforms, TellyNite may request catalogue metadata (such as posters, descriptions, and ratings) from TMDb (The Movie Database) to enrich browsing. TMDb may see technical request data such as your device's IP address. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb. Metadata quality and availability are not guaranteed.
7. Diagnostics and analytics
The Android TV app may use Google Firebase services (with Google acting as a processor), including:
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash and error reports (for example device model, OS version, app version, and stack traces) to diagnose playback and stability issues
- Firebase Analytics (or similar product analytics) for feature usage and reliability signals that help us improve the app
We design diagnostics to support product reliability. Do not put secrets you do not want processed into free-text fields you submit to us. Provider credentials should only be entered in the playlist / account fields intended for connecting Your Service.
8. Purchases and trials
Paid Premium is sold through the applicable app store (for example Google Play Billing). We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The store processes payment and shares purchase / entitlement status so we can unlock Premium. Trial eligibility and entitlement state may be stored so we can grant access and limit abuse.
9. Security
Account traffic to Firebase uses HTTPS. Access to cloud account data is scoped to your signed-in user under our security rules and backend controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.
10. Retention, rights, and deletion
We retain information as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. If a trial or subscription expires and you do not resubscribe, certain cloud sync data may be removed after a retention period. Local data on your device is not automatically removed by cloud retention alone.
You may permanently delete your account from the TellyNite app (About / Account) or from the account website where available. Deletion removes personal account data associated with your user profile as described in our account-deletion process. Certain business records (for example purchase history or trial-abuse prevention records) may be retained where necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact support@tellynite.com to make a request. We will honour requests as required by applicable law.
11. International transfers
Our service providers (including Google Firebase) may process data in the United States or other regions where they operate. If you use TellyNite from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
12. Children's privacy
TellyNite is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Parental Controls in the app are household tools and are not a guarantee that all mature content will be blocked.
13. The TellyNite website
The marketing and account website may process technical logs needed to serve pages (such as IP address and user-agent) through our hosting provider. If you sign in, Firebase Authentication and account APIs process your account credentials and session as described above.
We do not run advertising or remarketing tags on the website to build cross-site advertising profiles. If we add optional website analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent.
14. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers that help operate the product (for example Google Firebase, Crashlytics, Analytics, and hosting)
- App platforms (such as Google Play) for subscription validation
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and users
15. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The current version is posted at https://tellynite.com/privacy with the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
